Located in the Trough of Bowland, this decorative 18th-century pub sits in an impressive corner plot in the tranquil village of Forton. Along with three highly individual bedrooms, the inn is full of character and charm, with mismatched furniture, a roaring log fire in the handsome stone fireplace and some interesting ephemera. With fresh produce from the Forest of Bowland, the Lakeland fells and local Lancashire farms, and vegetables from his own garden, chef/patron Craig Wilkinson cooks traditional pub food with a twist.
